Leaving those he loves...

Leaving those he loves...

Here is a picture that Sister Foster sent this morning of Elder Free and Elder Cannon.

She writes:

Elder Free is on his way to Wisconsin Rapids to catch the transfer Bus out of Green Bay. These two elders have become fast buddies. Elder Free will be missed greatly. We will be getting an Elder Bingham in who also is from Mesa. He has been home for a while recovering from back problems. We will miss Elder Jopes. I will miss the piano playing but it is going back into the church this Friday anyway. To both the Cannons and Frees-We Love Your Sons.!

We are so grateful to all those that have loved him on his mission. We are very excited to welcome him home tomorrow!!

Sister Foster shot several pictures and emailed them to us. Her comments are attached to each one.
So much snow that church was canceled...can't remember the last time that happened in Arizona!

Temple Blessings

Temple Blessings

Here are some pictures we took, mostly during February including mission call opening, Melinda's birthday, Joshua's court of honor, and more.

Going to the temple with Mike was the most awesome though!

Happy Birthday Melinda!

Happy Birthday Melinda!

I was just looking at my last "roll" of pictures from my digital camera and found this one, so this is kind of late, but...Happy Birthday Melinda! Melinda has been a great example to me and others. She always smiles and carries the Spirit with her. I enjoy going to the Mission Prep class with her. She is so awesome! Love ya, sis!

P.S. Happy Birthday Elder Jopes!

Fun with Bathroom Mirrors

Fun with Bathroom Mirrors

You should try this! Becca and Danny started making the funny faces with the bathroom mirrors. You place your nose on the edge of the outside mirror and look at your reflection. It is very fun to make yourself have one nostril and a uni-brow.
Everyone started gathering around them and enjoying the show...just thought you would like to enjoy it with us.

Match Game

Match Game

Dad (Uncle Joe) found a cool game from the Ensign. You take a box of matches and a bottle of water (the water is for weight). You then take turns placing a match on the top of the bottle. The first one to drop one or more matches, loses. It is pretty much the opposite of Pick-Up-Sticks. Josh decided to try placing all 250 matches on the bottle by himself and he did it! Fun times...fun times...

Grandview II Ward Bishopric on the Sea of Cortez

Grandview II Ward Bishopric on the Sea of Cortez

Diana and I were invited to visit the Beach home of Dan and Sue Shreeve along with Doug and Shaunna Krieg near Rocky Point (Puerto Peñasco) Mexico. This is a picture taken by another bishop in our stake, Bishop Paul Rowley who has a home next to theirs. This is the hot fishing spot. Diana caught more fish than anyone else (here's the proof)!
I have also uploaded a bunch of pictures that Rebecca took at our "ready for heaven in 2007" luncheon and then some pictures from this trip.

Find out now!

Find out now!

Well, I finally opened my mission call yesterday (Saturday). I am called to serve in the Denmark Copenhagen Mission, speaking the Danish language and leaving the 20th of June! I am very excited, although that waiting time seems very long Ü. One of my leaders told me that I could probably learn the language before I go to the MTC.

I looked at the map of my area, and it shows that Greenland and Iceland are included with the Denmark mission. Amazing!

I know that this is where I am supposed to go. Thank you for being such great examples to me.

Love,
Elder Mike Free

P.S. Justin, I guess I won't be wearing a kilt. Ü I can't wait until your call comes!

What is that?!?

What is that?!?

It is official: Adam has lost his FIRST tooth on the 2nd of February, which just so happens to be Groundhog Day. He was very excited to show everyone that his tooth was "wiggly" and overly ecstatic to show everyone his tooth when it was out. He was SO happy, he posed for me. Just thought you ought to know!

It's HERE!

It's HERE!

Ahh! My mission call is here! I came home for lunch today to find it sitting on my bed! I am so excited! I guess we will have to find out tomorrow where I will be going, thanks to Mom and Dad Ü. They are in Mexico, having a blast, when I am here jumping up and down, waiting for them to show up. I don't think it is too late to start guessing...so...go for it! Think of it this way: you will get the date right!
-Mike
P.S. Ahh!

Michael's call update

Michael's call update

Here is the latest from the church's web site about Michael's call. So we are guessing it will come Friday! We'll post a movie of the opening of the call so you can all "be there" with us.

"Ready for Assignment"

"Ready for Assignment"

"Ready for Assignment", that is what the church's web site says about Michael! So, now is the time to start guessing. Just add a comment to this post and tell where you think he will go. You can also guess on what date you think his call will come if you want. I'm guessing that it will arrive on Feb 2nd and he will be called somewhere in Germany!
While you are voting, don't forget to add your vote to Justin's page too. His papers have been in three weeks so far and as of yesterday they haven't made it to Salt Lake yet. So this will be a harder guess. You can guess about his here.

Boisterous Boy Beams Because of Blow-up Bouncy, Blobby, Bubbly Box-shaped Boundary Best known as Battlefield/Battleground Bedlam. Beyond Belief, Brother Baffles Bigger Brothers.
Boy, that was long! I tried to put the whole thing in the title, but it wouldn't alow it. 27 'B's! Beat that! Well, I promised Adam that I would post him with his balloon on the blog if he were to wash the dishes, which he did. He got to go to a birthday party yesterday with one of those blow-up bouncy areas. He had tons of fun (and candy). Just thought I would share that with you!

P.S. Many thanks go to Mom for helping out with a Thesaurus.

Icicles in Mesa Arizona!

Icicles in Mesa Arizona!

Can this be true?!? Can Mesa be this cold? I never thought it possible! We usually get excited over frost on the trampoline or the neighbor's roof, but this just blew us away (back into the house because it was so cold outside). I was just going into my Dad's office when I found our Weber grill with billions of icicles on it, thanks to the spinklers. I checked the weather at 9:00 today (Sunday) and saw that we were one degree warmer than where Elder Jopes is, with us at 25˚. Then I checked Provo's weather...wow! 0˚!
