In Denmark!

In Denmark!

Dear Family,
Well I am in Denmark now. I don't have much time, but I am enjoying myself.
My trainer is called Elder Dixon and we are going to serve in Slagelse in Sjælen (island where København is in). He is showing me around. He seems really awesome.
Pastries are amazing. It does rain a lot here. I love the gospel!

Nelson's Visit to Colorado Springs

Nelson's Visit to Colorado Springs

Our vacation this year was to visit Rebecca and Reid in Colorado Springs, CO. It was great to have all of our family in one place and to hang out watching movies, swimming in the hotel pool, eating, playing games. We were able to see the Cluff's new-to-them home and to do some painting around their home (Rebecca employed some Tom Sawyer moves for that).

Jean and Evan recently moved to Colorado Springs, too, and live in the same ZIP code as Rebecca. We visit them Monday night and let everyone get reacquainted. Friday we fajitas with their family, played Apples to Apples (Mary Ann beat us all), and watched High School Musical 2 at two different times. Even though Evan was working in Dallas, TX, for most of the week only to be asked to go to South Africa on Friday, he and Jean treated Marilee and Richard to wonderful lunch at the Broadmoor. We spent three hours eating lunch and talking about jobs, kids, and how to solve the world's problems.

We didn't take many pictures, but we share them here.

Official District Photo

Official District Photo

Here is a photo and comments from Jerry Christensen - he works with the Danish elders in the MTC (In Mike's letters, he is the iphone guy!)
Here is Mike's letter from 8-8-07.

Here is the official district portrait that will hang in the mission office in Copenhagen. It usually is posted to greet them as they arrive. Assuming their visas are in order that arrival will happen in 8 short days.
A new chapter begins!

New Temple Presidents Announced - Jamison's to Panama!

New Temple Presidents Announced - Jamison's to Panama!

Congratulations to Diana and her parents. They received a phone call from Pres. Hinckley calling them to be Temple President for the nearly finished Panama City Temple. Woohoo! (I have also attached the world map of temples with all the new temple presidents)
This is what the church news had to say:
Ronald Dee Jamison, 76, Highland 27th Ward, Highland Utah West Stake; Panama City Panama Temple (under construction). President Jamison's wife, Mary Ann Wood Jamison, will serve as temple matron. He is executive secretary for the Europe West Area; former Dominican Republic Santo Domingo West Mission president, temple ordinance worker and bishop. Retired professor of mathematics at Brigham Young University. Born in Venice, Calif., to Clarence Edward and Kate Shaw Jamison.
Sister Jamison, senior couple missionary in the Europe West Area, is a former member of the Primary General Board, stake Relief Society president and counselor, counselor in a ward Relief Society and Young Women presidency. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Merrill Edward and Edna May Hepworth Wood.

Course I would have added "And parents to the amazing Diana Jamison Free!" but that is just me!

Danish family

Danish family

This is the Leits family. A Danish family that visited the MTC to be taught by Michael and his companions. Bro. Christensen sent the picture. It is always nice to have faces with names. Thanks Bro. Christensen!
This just in...his letter from last Wednesday that finally got here Monday! Read it here.

Fun at home!

Fun at home!

I was able to get a week off of work and visit home! The best part about it was I surprised everyone! When I walked inside mom was in the kitchen. I snuck up on her, put my arms around her, and said "hi". She was totally surprised, and her reaction was definitely worth coming here for. Part of the time I spent at home, we decided to go camping in Canyon Creek. You can check out the pictures by clicking here.

Melinda has wheels! (almost)

Melinda has wheels! (almost)

Melinda has been looking around for a car. We have searched online and gone and tested out new ones. We drove to look at a 2006 Honda Civic with less than 13,000 miles (about 40 miles away!) and it was love at first site.
So here she is...and her new car. She won't actually get the car until early next week but the deal is done and as you can see, she is happy.
Her dad had a great time shopping with her (I couldn't talk her into a pickup truck!)

Jake and some EFY friends

Jake and some EFY friends

Jake came to EFY in Cedar. In the process he met and befriended two girls from Maryland. They helped harvest potatoes from the garden and Jake cooked his famous pancakes. With Grandmas eggs and Bacon we had feast. All seemed to enjoy the quiet country life. The girls seemed to like the company they were keeping. Juliet and Daina are new friends.

Summer Fun in Rexburg!

Summer Fun in Rexburg!

I have had fun here in Rexburg, ID. Some may think there isn't much to do, but that's because they don't go looking for things to do. We've gone swimming lots, but not in pools. We go to different rivers around the area. Anyway, check out all the photos and movies that I've posted to get a glimpse of my life the past few months.

Here are a bunch of photos of the last few days before Mike entered the MTC. It was great getting together with so many to wish this wonderful missionary the best. The drop off at the MTC was awesome - I'm green with envy that he gets to stay there!

Anyway, here they are for all to enjoy.

Holly's Graduation

Holly's Graduation

Congratulations to Holly on her high school graduation! Aunt Elizabeth, Mandy, and Brandon made the trek up to help celebrate along with the "Orem locals". We certainly are proud of her! More pictures here.

Mexico trip with Friends!

Mexico trip with Friends!

One of my friends decided to get everyone together before their own missions and take a trip to Mexico. Boy was that fun! We got to sleep out on the porch of a beach house, enjoy the cool breeze, listen to the waves and watch the stars. We did a lot of fishing...too bad I didn't bring my camera! Anyways, I hope you enjoy my photos. I was having too much fun playing with my friends that I didn't record most of it, but the sunrise may make up for it!
