More Pictures of Family Reunion Taken by John and Jen

We had a lot of fun with everyone! There was a lot of great food, love, laughs, and smiles all around. Savannah came out of her shell and entertained us all with dancing and singing. You would never believe she is a shy person. Avery was full of cute giggles which made us all smile. Chiaki was the fashion diva as always! Chad is an amazing dancer. We had a blast with the Silva kids before, during, and after the reunion. Mandy, Brandon, and Lauren were reunited with their cousins who missed them. The girls and boys sang cool primary songs. Marilee reminded us how to do the pioneer line dance, which hopefully helped us speed up the digestion process of yummy food. Grandpa played games with the teens and kids! It was cool to see people quilting blankets. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for planning this gathering and sharing your beautiful testimonies! I am sure the southern side of the family will have a wonderful time too!

Halloween 2008- Cake cookoff 2008

Halloween 2008- Cake cookoff 2008

This is our fearsome duo! Audrey, as Jen says, is no longer into the sweet costumes. So, without further delay I introduce Countess Audrey Free! Bringing the sweet side to our Halloween component is the Snow Princess Savannah. We finished off the night with the girls taking Jen and I to High School Musical 3 at the Scera! We had a Cake Cook off that happened in September, that turned into a Cake Decorating extravaganza!!!!!! We had two teams consisting of; Audrey representing Sweet Tomboys, Momma Jen and Savannah were the Sweet Cakes! The battle was fierce, creative juices flowing, sugar headaches following…….. ENJOY!!!!!!!

Mountain View High School (Orem, UT) Marching Band Trophies

Mountain View High School (Orem, UT) Marching Band Trophies

"Count" Jordan had a Halloween Band Concert this evening and it was really good (of course). All the trophies from his marching band (Orem High Marching Band with half Mountain View students) were displayed in the lobby. They did very well this year and racked up 23 trophies in six competitions earning first place in their division in each. Just in case the slideshow does not display or you want to see larger pictures, you can see them here

Andrew and Adam put together musical number for us!

Today is fast Sunday. While Josh and Daniel were out doing fast offerings and Diana, Rebecca and I were at choir practice Adam and Andrew decided to put together a musical number for us!

Andrew figured out how to play "As I have loved you" on his trumpet and Adam sang along.

Here is the video I took with my phone when we came in from choir practice. What great boys!

Our Little Addition

We're a little slow in getting these first pictures up here, but here they are - our first pictures of the baby! These are actually from our first appointment back in August. We find out if we've got a boy or girl on October 30th, so if you want to guess, do so before then!! :) We love you all!

One foot in Arizona and the other in Utah

One foot in Arizona and the other in Utah

Ellie requested that we stop and get our picture taken with one foot in Arizona and the other in Utah...so we did. Pretty nice looking gang! (you might have to load the larger version to see their faces)

Amazing Lightning Storm in Mesa

Last night was an amazing storm. I have never seen anything like it. And apparently neither have the news folks.

There was just continual lightning strikes. If you could lay on your back you would see lighting always in the sky.

Here is a 10 minute clip that has not been edited at all. What is shocking is how consistent it is. The thunder is continuous and sounds like a jet engine in the background.

Midnight "Breaking Dawn" Release

Yes. I know. We are all Twilight junkies.
Jen, Stacy, Lauren, Emily and I all went to the midnight release of the new book in the Twilight saga.

It was the most ridiculous concentration of vampire fanatics ever! In the Borders Bookstore, there were over 1,000 waiting for the book. LUCKILY, we were in line with our reserved numbers in the 260's. Everyone who wanted a book had to have an official wristband with a number on it, and then had to stand single file (for a LOOOONNNNGGG time) as they shuffled groups of people through a winding line around the parking lot and the book store. Crazy! I felt like i was in line for a disney land ride.

What a crowd, and what an awesome book.
I haven't finished reading yet, but i know that Jen and Stacy (and i am also told that Ryan) devoured it the moment they got their hands on it!

Here are some fun pictures from the midnight event:

Congratulations, Dave!

So there I was, wandering around the BYU Bookstore, thinking about the candy counter, and what did I see? "Jee's Bones" right in front of me on the shelf! I was so proud to think, "I know the author!" so I just had to take a picture! I walked down the row and found "Journey of the Heart," so that got a picture, too. I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't finished "Journey" yet, but Reid and I are reading it together, so that's a little more difficult. Anyway, we both enjoy it so far, and I can't wait to see how everything ends up.

Congratulations on achieving a dream, Dave - what a great example to all of not giving up on something that is really important to you.

P.S. Will you sign my book for me? :)

Chad's Birthday Video

Well, it may be a little late, but I finally figured out how to share this great video I made for Chad's birthday...I think... :) Hey, I'm pretty impressed with myself, considering that I have never used iMovie or YouTube before last week! Thank you very much to those who contributed their thoughts and memories of Chad.

Here is the link to the video (I tried to attach the video, but was unsucessful):
