Grand Canyon, Grand Vistas, Grandchildren, oh my...

Here are some pictures from Grandpa over the last little while.
I don't have a description of the first several but starting with the Grand Canyon we have:
"The first 2 are on the North rim as we came down to see you.
The second 6 are of a trip to Kent's Lake and several of nearby Anderson Meadow lake with fish jumping all on Beaver Mountain and hour and a half from Paragonah.
The last six are of the Rexburg Temple, Moose creek where we camped for several days and went to Church at the chapel near Mac's Inn and Mesa Falls on Henry's fork of the snake river."

Fun at home!

Fun at home!

I was able to get a week off of work and visit home! The best part about it was I surprised everyone! When I walked inside mom was in the kitchen. I snuck up on her, put my arms around her, and said "hi". She was totally surprised, and her reaction was definitely worth coming here for. Part of the time I spent at home, we decided to go camping in Canyon Creek. You can check out the pictures by clicking here.

Jake and some EFY friends

Jake and some EFY friends

Jake came to EFY in Cedar. In the process he met and befriended two girls from Maryland. They helped harvest potatoes from the garden and Jake cooked his famous pancakes. With Grandmas eggs and Bacon we had feast. All seemed to enjoy the quiet country life. The girls seemed to like the company they were keeping. Juliet and Daina are new friends.

AELDSTE FREE

AELDSTE FREE

Here are a bunch of photos of the last few days before Mike entered the MTC. It was great getting together with so many to wish this wonderful missionary the best. The drop off at the MTC was awesome - I'm green with envy that he gets to stay there!

Anyway, here they are for all to enjoy.

Ellie's Easter Poem

Ellie's Easter Poem

Easter!
A time when everyone is sad!
A time when everyone is happy!
A time when the Savior died for man!
He hung on the cross that rainy night!
He died to save us all!
He died so we could repent
And live with him again!
Have a Happy Easter!
Love,
Elena

Check out this new site!

Check out this new site!

So with Joe's mad web development skills, we have launched another really cool, and really free website.

This one is called CTRstories.com. The concept is that authors can post the chapters of their stories as they complete them. Family and friends can then read as they go and provide valuable feedback.

For the authors they get a chance to see how good their story is, get ideas to improve it, and build a following that could help them get published.

For the readers they get to read it "hot off the keyboard," give feedback, and it costs them nothing.

The cool web stuff is that you can sign up to be notified anytime a new chapter is posted and you can also forward to all your friends and family.

We've got one story up so far. Go check it out and keep after the author to get it finished! Got a story in you? Let us know and we'll get it up there.

So We're in a Movie!

So We're in a Movie!

Our Priest Quorum has been working on a movie--actually a short film. It's about 30 minutes long. Anyway, we've set up a website. We've got a trailer you can watch as well.
Check it out! I die in about the first five minutes, Jake lasts a few more than me...
Here is the site.

Why Parents of Young Children Never Seem to Get Enough Sleep!

Couldn't resist taking this picture this morning. Just to get your bearings, Kristin is sleeping on the bed in the traditional direction. Still trying to figure out where I was sleeping...

Swimming Starts

Swimming Starts

Becca is loving swimming. She is with lots of ward friends and family! Here she is with Lauren. We have a few more pictures here that show not only swimming but Daniel getting his "Star" and some monsoon clouds and rainbows, and even a picture of lightening!

Awesome Arizona Monsoon Sky

Awesome Arizona Monsoon Sky

On September 4th just after dinner and before family night we all went out to see an amazing sky. There was a brilliant rainbow that at some points was fully revealed. But the clouds were awesome and some rain was coming in, combined with the setting sun it was cool. This picture is a composite of 5 images that were stitched together.

You can see most of our gang and others in the picture. I think we have (left to right): Joshua (across the street), Diana, Melinda (doing some airbending it appears!), Andrew, Adam (behind the pole), Jeremy, Rebecca, Bailey, McKay, Maddie, Hunter and Joshua (he crossed the street by the time this part of the picture was taken!). A few more minutes and Nate showed up...don't know where Daniel was..probably out of the picture.

A few hundred family pictures...

A few hundred family pictures...

Ok, our pictures aren't nearly as exciting as James & Heather, but what we lack in quality, we make up for in quantity.

Grandma, there are individual and family photos for you--pick your favorite. And, yes, Jeremy does put his shirt on. Click here for hours of fun. Click on the names along the top to see each gallery.

PS-For all the happy Mac people out there, I created the galleries using iWeb and then just published to a folder and then got it to Joe. Works great.

Jello popcorn and family night...check out the video!

Jello popcorn and family night...check out the video!

OK, so this picture is not of the popcorn fun. It is of the temple builders, Jeremy and Adam. They kept running out to the "office" and dragging Dave and I in to see their progress. Before the day was done they had two temples and a nice fence around them both.

So, last night Becca was treats and Melinda was games. So they decided we would make jello popcorn balls for treats. We popped and cooked and stirred and then smeared the butter on the hands. Then before we got many balls made we just started eating. This is very sticky stuff. Check out these pictures which includes a movie of Daniel...too funny.
