Doodle Wopps!

Doodle Wopps!

Elizabeth and I decided to try some recipe that we saw a while ago. I got the recipe from Sis. Foster...the amazing women my companion and I stayed with in my last area. She sent me two cook books that she had made for our wedding. So, Doodle Wopps was a fun name and it looked good. So, with some of our left over ham we tried it out! It was really good and was very easy clean up. You can see pictures by clicking here.

Fall Fun

I have had a wonderful first half of November! With the help of the Hord family, I was able to fly down to AZ and surprise my family on the 1st. On Friday, I went on the Father/Daughter campout with my Dad and sister (you can see a picture of them with some of the YUMMY teryaki sauce we picked up on the way). It was fun to spend time with my family and visit my home ward (and mission prep class...it is the BEST). Joseph and Elizabeth Hord were also down there that weekend (trying out for the Easter Pageant). The three of us flew back to Salt Lake on the same flight and got lunch together (Wendy's) after arriving back in Provo.

This past weekend, Becca and Reid were able to fly out for a visit. Some family friends hosted a baby shower for Becca, and it was a lot of fun. Reid's mom did the food, so of course it was amazing, and they have a lot of great people there. They also had a really fun and creative activity at the shower. There were several plain white onesies and special fabric markers for people to use in decorating them! It was great! I took a couple pictures of Lauren's masterpiece. Ü

Today, I got to go with Becca to the BYU Museum of Art (one of our favorite places to be...lots of good memories Ü). You can see a picture of us in front of the building that a nice girl (enjoying her lunch on a bench nearby) was nice enough to take for us. We looked at almost everything in the building, and we also got to visit briefly with two of her (well, our) former art history professors. We then headed across the street to meet up with Reid for lunch and ice cream (delicious, of course!) at the BYU Creamery. Happy day! ...And a beautiful one. I am also including a couple shots of the fall leaves and blue sky taken today in the courtyard of my building.

I hope you are all having a fun fall!

Elder Mike Free

Elder Mike Free

Well, I got my missionary picture taken today, so I thought I would just share the proof with you! I even did some "photoshop magic" on it to make myself look good Ü. Hope you enjoy it!

Icicles in Mesa Arizona!

Icicles in Mesa Arizona!

Can this be true?!? Can Mesa be this cold? I never thought it possible! We usually get excited over frost on the trampoline or the neighbor's roof, but this just blew us away (back into the house because it was so cold outside). I was just going into my Dad's office when I found our Weber grill with billions of icicles on it, thanks to the spinklers. I checked the weather at 9:00 today (Sunday) and saw that we were one degree warmer than where Elder Jopes is, with us at 25˚. Then I checked Provo's weather...wow! 0˚!

More Arizona Skies!

More Arizona Skies!

There I was, anxiously awaiting Mom and Dad's arrival in the next-door-neighbor's driveway, playing basketball with 'me' own brothers. I take the shot and, of course, swish it. I smile and look to 'me' left and saw such a wonderful site! I quickly left the game o' speed and grabbed 'me' Nikon camera and took several pictures. I love the Arizona sky when it isn't blaring down on you!

Becca and Melinda's Newly Refurbished Bed

Becca and Melinda's Newly Refurbished Bed

This is what mine and Melinda's bed lookes like after I have made it. What really happened was my cat Sox threw-up on our real bed, and so because mum and dad are gone, we decided to borrow their bed. And so, we decorated it to our liking, with 14 pillows, 7 for each of us!!!!!! Man our we spoiled or what?!!!!

Arizona Sunrise

Arizona Sunrise

'Twas the second day after Christmas and all through the house were shouts of "Michael! Michael! Come hither!" I did go thither and my heart went all-a-flutter and grew 10 sizes bigger! I did done see that beautiful sky and raced to my room and seized my camera and its tripod. I took several pictures and decided: "Perhaps I should share this lovely shot with others, so their hearts can grow too." And that is how this Arizona Sunrise picture was uploaded to the blog. THE END

Paragonah, Panaca Photos Posted - Pretty Ponies

So I tried it again. I think I did pretty good, except it should be photos of wild horses, not pretty ponies. At least I didn't put 'pneumonia' on there Ü (Brian Regan). Enjoy!

Here's the link to the photos that I took while with Grandpa. Check them out!

Thanks to Dad for helping me get them up. I now know how to post multiple pictures! Hurray!

P.S. Doesn't this picture of the Kilns make the perfect Wallpaper or Desktop Picture?

Thistle!!!

Thistle!!!

Here is another picture that I took while I was fishing. It reminded me of Thistle Creek! Perhaps Grandpa could come up and take me, and whoever else, up to the creek. Ü

Camping!!!

Camping!!!

I've settled into Uncle Rich's home now and got access to the internet, thanks to Uncle Rich. I got to go on a camping trip with Uncle Rich, Chad and their 11-year-old scouts. It was very fun! After we got my license we started driving to the camp site. We almost hit a deer! We had tin-foil dinners and s'mores that night. I took this picture in the morning. We found a cool fort that someone else had made. We found some deer bones in there too! We went fishing at Payson Lakes, but didn't catch anything, except for a sock and some rock rollers. We still liked being there.

Visit with the family

Visit with the family

Matt & Chiaki and family all visited us here in Denver. We had lots of fun playing with them and visiting our favorite Italian restaurants and eating gelato, MMMMMMmmmmmm....This was a picture we took, Rufus was a good sport and let us sit on him. Thanks for visiting with us Matt, Chiaki, Anna, Erika, and Kent. Hopefully someday we can make it out to Japan.

Moon Pie!

Moon Pie!

Well, now that Fast Sunday is over, I would like to show you what I made for a birthday party on my other side of the family. I made Moon Pie. It was pretty good, not as good as when my mother makes it, but it was still good.
I am seeing a trend. I make (and post) all of my desserts and John makes (and posts) all of his great looking food. I'm thinking of getting together and having a feast. Maybe at Provo Canyon? We could play frisbee there and roast some marshmellows. John and I could provide the food, others can provide the fun. I don't know if you have time, but I think I would enjoy that. Think on it, while you read what is in this baby:
Moon Pie
In a heavy sauce pan stir together and cook on med. high until it thickens and forms into a ball:
1 C. water
1 cube margarine
1 C. flour
Cool for a few minutes, then beat in 4 eggs.
Spread on cookie sheet and cook at 425 for 20-25 min. until golden brown. Cool.
Topping 1: 8 oz. cream cheese (softened and whipped)
2 small instant vanilla pudding
4 C. milk
Topping 2: 1 large Cool Whip (16 oz.)
Drizzle Hershey's chocolate syrup over the whole thing (diagonally one way and then the other) and refrigerate.
Have a great week!

Okay, here is a pretty good picture of part of its wings. You might have to view the original to see the them.
