Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from the Free kids! We had a lot of fun (75 photos worth) with the tripod-camera duo. It started out with me taking a picture of Becca, Danny, Josh and Andrew, but we were able to fit me in with the timer function. Melinda was able to join in a bit later. We had several goof-ups, because our timing was off, but we got some great group photos and singles! Perhaps my Dad can help me (again) in posting all of the photos on the website...I forgot how! Too much fun!
P.S. I am the first to post on the blog in 2007! Ü

Flipped!

Flipped!

Just to prove my previous statement...here is the flipped position on the next day!

More Spring Break Pictures...

Here are a few pictures I took last week when I went down to Parowan/Paragonah/Brian Head for Spring Break.

(Thanks, Dad, for uploading the pictures for me! Ü)

Our Thanksgiving Turkey

I worked on Thanksgiving again this year, but at least I was able to be home in the evening. Last year was spent in Korea. It is still strange to work on Thanksgiving..

Chiaki found an 8 lb turkey (big chicken maybe?) that barely fit into our "oven". The " are because it is nothing but a glorified microwave.

I put the turkey in at 1pm on Saturday, and when I checked it at 5pm it was getting warm. I finally pulled it out at 10pm and it was hot, but not yet cooked. This "oven" only allows you to set the timer for 90min at a time, so you can calculate how many times I had to reset the timer.

I set it again the following day as we left for church, and we were able to carve off the outside edges and eat. I then cleaned all the meat off the bones and cooked just the meat by itself to make sure.

Next Thanksgiving that I am in the states, my list of gratitude will include OVEN!

Utah leaves and Arizona fall...best of both worlds

Utah leaves and Arizona fall...best of both worlds

What a sweetie that Melinda is. She sent her family this notice "Happy Fall! I picke these up ont he way back from school and thought I would share them with you! Ü Love ya, Melinda"
The leaves were great. And huge! The biggest one (not shown here) is 12 inches across! But the best part was we got to have some of Melinda in our home. To think of us and sent it was great. So we are sharing her with all of you.
Adam wanted to take a leaf outside and watch it fall. Here is a movie of him doing just that!
Thanks Melinda!

Kent was able to prepare his own testimony without help. Look at that proud smile on dads face! Kent made all of us proud!

Surprise!! (scream over 80 people!)

Happy 50th Anniversary from all of us...and I mean all of us! Welcome to your virtual online 50th anniversary reception! You already have over 80 people waiting in line to talk to you (more will be coming).

So both of you sit back and get comfortable, get a box or two of Kleenex and click here.

You will be able to read each comment. If you would like to reply then click on "reply" at the end of their comment. They will then be able to come back and see your reply to their comment. Just like in a reception line...except different.

OK, so it is not exactly like a reception. You will definitely miss the hugs and looking in the eyes of loved ones. BUT there are some benefits. If you get tired you can take a break and its kinda nice to be with just your sweetie on this 50th anniversary of your honeymoon!

We are confident that the Spirit will carry into your hearts the feelings we had as we shared our words with you.

Congratulations! We love you!

23rd Anniversary Outing

23rd Anniversary Outing

Diana and I went to the moutains (See Canyon Trailhead near Christopher Creek) for our 23rd Anniversary celebration. We left early Friday morning and had camp setup by about 10:30am and a fish on the line a few minutes later. We ended up keeping four fish on ice for dinner then took off for a hike to the Spring. Most of these pictures come from the hike. I got up early Saturday and drove in to Payson to get the latest Harry Potter book. Then we spent most of the day reading it together. Very fun time, we'd like to go again soon!

Rebecca and Reid (look at ring finger)

engaged!

Rebecca skipped out of FHE to go on a date with Reid. They returned while we were playing Phase 10 to show us THE RING. Yes, they are officially engaged. We, Richard and Marilee, already knew that is was going to happen Monday because Reid had talked to us alone on Sunday while Rebecca was at the Singles' Ward. ;-) But we did not know how. We'll let Rebecca make her own blog entry about how he proposed. Anyway, we are very excited for them.

Panaca 2005

Panaca 2005

A few of us snuck over to Panaca on Friday for a couple of hours. We looked at the Wheeler Ranch, played in the sand dunes and swam in the spring! This is a great time of year for the tadpoles or pollywogs. You could see them popping up to get a gulp of air. It looked like bubbles all over the surface! Too fun. The picture will link you to many pictures of the adventures that day. I got carried away with the Wheeler Ranch...but that site had a sacred feeling to me.

Matt just sent some pictures of him and someone else on some 4 wheelers at the dunes. Matt is the one in the air and with the flowers.
