South African Smiles...

As I read Mom and Dad's latest letter I felt the picture was too good to be displayed so small. Here is a bigger one showing the smiles! (click it to see the bigger one)

Christmas Card Preview

Christmas Card Preview

On Saturday we got all spruced up and headed to a local park to get our annual family picture taken. We had a friend from work take the shots. This picture is just a shot her friend took with the digital camera while the photographer was doing her thing with a traditional camera. It was cloudy, cold, and by the time we finished the wind was blowing like crazy but we got a few good shots which we'll be sending out once we get prints made. Thought you'd like a preview.

The Merry-Go-Round that never stops

The Merry-Go-Round that never stops

Here is another shot we took while shooting family pictures. It seemed to make sense given that sometimes we feel like we are on a Merry-Go-Round that will never stop. At least we are on it with some good lookin' kids uh?

Jake fights for position

Jake fights for position

The Kino Kolts lost on Friday despite Jake's battle for this rebound (he's in the green and gold). I tried to get him to pose for a picture afterward so you could his face, but he wouldn't go for it. Next time I'll have to sneak up on him.

Peelin' Pears

Peelin' Pears

Kristin and Diana have been working their way through 4 boxes of pears this past week. On Friday night Kristin and I did a batch of old brown jam. Maddie helped out.

No anything but Santa!

No anything but Santa!

Our ward sponsored a "Breakfast with Santa" on Saturday morning. It was fun (pancakes etc.) but cold (ok, cold for us) by the time Santa arrived we were all shivering. Maddie decided she didn't like Santa much and I couldn't even get Jeremy close enough for a picture...

Mike wins the Grand Prize

Mike wins the Grand Prize

It pays to be a runner at Mountain View High School for Michael Free. On the morning of Thanksgiving, Michael went to the annual Coon's Turkey Trot. The Turkey Trot was 3 miles long, and he won it with a time of 16:43. Michael was suprised by his times, but even more was his winnings. In the picture, it shows Michael with a very nice Sony CD player, Hershey Mint Chocolate Cookies 'n Cream bar, and a 100 dollar bill! You should have seen his face when he opened the envelope up with the money. Michael did pay his tithing and mission money and is ready to spend most of the money on Christmas presents.

Picture Posting Test

Jess and friends

We got our digital camera going! Just wanted to test out the posting process. This was taken Wednesday night. We had all of the members of Jake's Teachers Quorum over to make Christmas treats, then the Mia Maids came to help eat them, and then Jess's friend, Max, dropped by so we had a houseful. The two to Jess's right are Ashley and Jordan Tucker and Max is on her left. Anyway, if you are seeing the picture and reading this, the test worked!

Elizabeth needs our prayers

Elizabeth has been in the hospital with pneumonia. We hope she is home now, but at this time we are not sure. Thanks for your united faith!

Aunt Sheila is home and doing very well. Sore chest, and weak, but resting well. Thanks for your faith in her behalf.

FYI

the country code for granny/gramps is 27

Death by Raisins

Manoel has found stonger and more lethal ammunition for his blow gun. Raisins. You can imagine our joy at finding raisins all over the house, although, if we get hungry, we can just bend over and pick one up...yum, yum. Getting back to the point, there was a little mouse who wanted to move in with us. But, Manoel the great attacked him with his raisins - and he is no more!! We decided that this was better to be just a post, and not a post with a picture...

Rexburg Snow!

Rexburg Snow!

For the first time it is snowing in Rexburg and sticking! It was so exciting to be in the snow. Me and my friends stayed out as long as possible, that is until we got too cold. :)

Jake's Team Posts a Win!

After a long and winless football season, Jake's Kino Kolts posted their first win on the hardwood against South Mountain last night. Jake played some good minutes, scored four points and played a key role in helping his team break a tenacious full court press. Sorry, no pictures from this one but we did get our digital camera going again so we'll shoot some on Friday at his next game.

The papers are in Salt Lake City as of the 28th of November. So we are all wondering when the call will come and where Joseph will go. Why not comment on this post and let's see who is right...guess what day the call will arrive and where he will go.

Here is a link to a site that lists the missions.
